Sleepy Hollow (NY) officials agreed to donate a spare fire truck to a Queens fire department ravaged by Hurricane Sandy in November.
The yellow fire truck sat outside the Village Hall as members of the Broad Channel Volunteer Fire Department visited Sleepy Hollow. Firefighters were showing off the truck to the village that gave it away.
Sleepy Hollow officials decided to give the fire truck away instead of selling it because the Queens fire department and surrounding community were devastated by the storm. Sleepy Hollow firefighters loaded the truck up with supplies and drove it down to the Broad Channel fire station in November.
