Putnam County (TN) FD Apparatus Struck at Accident Scene on Interstate

At approximately 8 p.m. Saturday, July 27, Putnam County Fire Department responded to a motor vehicle accident on Interstate 40 around the 296 westbound mile marker, the department said in a
Facebook post.

While working this accident, a vehicle failed to slow down and move over appropriately, resulting in the vehicle striking two other vehicles before it struck a PCFD apparatus on scene.

PCFD personnel was not in the apparatus hit and sustained no injuries; occupants of the vehicle also sustained no injuries but their vehicles was damaged. The PCFD apparatus sustained minor damage to the tailboard area, not compromising the operability of the apparatus.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol is in charge of the investigation and PCFD is cooperating in all aspects until the conclusion.
