The Strasburg Fire Department recently took delivery of a new Sutphen pumper-tanker, the department announced on Facebook.
The new rig is equipped with a 2,000-gallon water tank, a 1,500 gallon-per-minute pump, and more than 200 cubic feet of compartment space.
This pumper-tanker will replace two apparatus: the department’s 1998 tanker and an engine around the same age.
The village in 2022 sold another aging fire apparatus for $35,000, according to a wjer.com report. That money and $100,000 from ProVia went toward the down payment on the more than $800,000 pumper-tanker.
