A 46-year-old Charleston man was killed and three firefighters injured in a crash Thursday afternoon.
One firefighter had to be cut out of the pumper, which rolled over in the accident.
The crash happened on Childress Road not far from the U.S. Route 119. The pumper was responding to a call for a traffic accident from the South Charleston Fire Department’s Alum Creek station. Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office said the truck collided with a car at an intersection, killing one of the occupants of the car.
Police are reviewing video footage to determine if either vehicle ran a red light at the intersection. The three firefighters involved in the crash are expected to be OK.
