The Frankfort (NY) Village Board voted last month to reject both of the bids that were submitted and met specifications to replace a 1986 tanker-pumper.
Four Guys Fire Trucks, of Meyersdale (PA) had submitted the low bid of $258,814.
Chief Charles Conigliaro said the 1986 truck can be driven safely and be used to shuttle water and carry ladders, but the pump is inoperable. He is looking into the cost of repairs.
