Prosper (TX) Boy Rides Fire Apparatus to School

An 11-year-old Prosper boy got the ride of a lifetime Tuesday when firefighters drove him to school in the front seat of a fire truck.

Firefighters said they wanted to give Brooks Capel a special treat after he returned $5 to the fire department earlier this month.

The cash had fallen out of a fireman’s boot during a charity drive for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Capel saw the money blow away and asked his mother after school to take him to the fire department so he could return the bill.

“The firemen needed it. It seemed like the right thing to do. I knew it wasn’t mine,” Capel said.

Firefighters were so moved by the gesture, they wanted to show their appreciation with a unique ride to school.
