Portage la Prairie (Canada) Seeks Fire Apparatus

Portage la Prairie Fire Department has started the process for getting funding for a fire truck, reports Portage Online.

The fire department hopes to replace a nearly 30-years-old fire truck. Newer trucks will be both more efficient and be better for firefighter health and safety.

The city council has passed a resolution to allow a fire department to apply for a fire protection grant provided by Province of Manitoba.

The current estimate for the Fire Department’s needs is around $700,000.
