Plymouth (MI) Agrees to Equipment Replacement

The City of Plymouth (MI) is focusing its attention on replacing equipment lost in the fire on June 9.

The department lost nearly 5,000 feet of various sized fire hose during the fire, which is still under investigation.
In addition, four radios were also lost in the fire: two which were mounted in the truck as mobile units and two which were portable walkie talkie radio chargers that were in the truck.

The city was able to purchase radios under state of Michigan contract so they were able to obtain state pricing. The lowest bid came from Advanced Wireless Telecom for $7,225.10.

The new radios include a EF Johnson 800 megahertz mobile radio, a Motorola VHF Mobile Radio and two EF Johnson 800 megahertz portable radios with car charging units.
