The Pittsboro, NC, board of commissioners voted unanimously earlier this week to support a loan the members of the Pittsboro Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department to purchase a new quint, according to a report published by the Chatham News + Record.
The commissioners made the decision to back the loan agreement to purchase the new aerial in an amount not to exceed $1,433,477 but the responsibility to repay First Bank for the apparatus falls totally to the volunteer firefighters.
The commissioners saw no reason not to support the move and voted, unanimously, to adopt a resolution in support of the loan, the paper reported.
