Pinned by Fire Apparatus, Providence (RI) Firefighter Suffers Minor Injuries

A Providence (RI) firefighter suffered minor injuries when a fire apparatus apparently slid on a snow-covered hill and pinned him against a parked car, NBC 10 WJAR reported.

It happened as a fire department crew was returning to the station from a service call early Sunday morning. The rig was unable to climb the hill and slid on Ames Street, near Atwells Avenue on Federal Hill, the report said.

Crews used a low-pressure airbag device to dislodge the pinned firefighter, according to the report.

He was rushed to the hospital but was released hours later with only minor injuries, the report said.
