Pierce Manufacturing Announces 100th Anniversary Open House And Fire Truck Parade

APPLETON, WI—Pierce Manufacturing Inc., announces a Pierce 100th Anniversary Open House for the public on Saturday, July 13. The festivities will begin with a Pierce® fire truck parade at 11:00 a.m. on American Drive. Immediately following the parade, the celebration will continue at Pierce headquarters with a 100th Anniversary ceremony and the company’s first-ever public open house, featuring a variety of activities until 4:00 p.m.

“From modest beginnings in the Fox Valley in 1913, Pierce has grown to become one of the world’s largest and most respected manufacturers of fire and rescue apparatus; it wouldn’t be possible without strong support from this community,” said Jim Johnson, Oshkosh Corporation executive vice president and president Fire & Emergency. “During our centennial year, we believe it’s fitting to share the celebration by opening Pierce’s doors to our friends and neighbors.”

The Pierce fire truck parade will run along American Drive between Prospect Avenue and Shady Lane. Pierce is happy to welcome fire departments from the region to be part of the celebration and drive their Pierce fire truck in the parade. In addition, firefighters are invited to walk in the parade in uniform. Other Open House events include tours of the Pierce manufacturing plant (2600 American Drive, Appleton, WI) kids’ activities, fire truck rides, a Pierce history display, and interactive fire safety education. For more information and registration details on participating in the parade, visit www.piercemfg.com/100thOpenHouse.

The celebration will continue on July 14 when Pierce hosts a Pierce 100th Anniversary 9-11 Memorial Stair Climb at Lambeau Field to benefit the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation. For more information and to register for the stair climb, visit www.piercemfg.com/100thStairClimb.
