Firefighters aboard a Phoenix Fire truck hit by another vehicle while responding to a medical call proceeded to treat the driver for her injuries, officials said.
Fire Captain Benjamin Santillan said the truck had lights and sirens activated and was headed to a call for a critical patient at 73rd and Glenrosa avenues when it was struck in the right rear tire by a 20-year-old driver.
Firefighters immediately treated the woman for her injuries and transported her to a hospital in stable condition for evaluation, Santillan said.
The woman’s 2-year-old son was also in the vehicle and was not injured, Santillan said. The child was taken home by his grandmother.
