1989 Pierce and 1975 Mack CF Pumpers

The Neptune Hose Co. 1, Long Branch (NJ) Engine 5, is one of nine volunteer fire companies in Long Branch, New Jersey. The company recently retired its 1975 Mack CF fire apparatus. A workhorse for 39 years, the unit will is being replaced by a preowned 1989 Pierce pumper that was purchased from Eatontown, New Jersey. The Mack will be used at the Monmouth County Fire Academy.

A company tradition at the Neptune Hose Company is to transfer items from one fire apparatus to the next when it is replaced. In this case, notice the Mack CF lights on front of the 1989 Pierce. Also, notice the chrome placards affixed under the crew cab windows on each side of the truck. These placards have followed every apparatus the fire company has owned since its inception.
