Chicago (IL) Fire Department Fire Apparatus

The truck and equipment shown here operated at this fire at 1401 S. Michigan Ave., Chicago, IL, in a fancy South Loop restaurant. It used to be an active firehouse. Originally it housed the Chicago (IL) Fire Department’s Engine 104, Truck 31, Tower 3, and Pressure 3. The original Command Van 4-2-4 ran from here as well during the 70s and 80s. It later became photo and OFI quarters when 104 was moved to Truck 61. Its last occupant was the dive rig. When the department had a plane crash along the lakefront, it had to send a company here to force entry so they could retrieve the dive rig for the incident.
