City council recently approved nearly $30,000 to rebuild Peoria (IL) Fire Department’s Engine 20, reports centralillinoisproud.com.

The City of Peoria Fire Garage does annual inspections on department trucks, and, after inspecting the apparatus, concerns were raised about some of the engine’s internal parts, the report says.

The apparatus is 10 years old and needs an overhaul. It serves city’s north end and is housed at station 20 on West Wilhelm Road.

Officials say it will be out of service for at least two weeks.
