The Owatonna Fire Department showed its new fire engine to city officials, reports KRFO AM 1390.

The truck cost $750,000 and has the same specs as the fire department’s current first-out primary fire engine. The goal was to have two basically identical trucks.

The truck is capable of carrying 1,000 gallons of water. The engine has a remote nozzle on the front bumper that can be operated from inside the cab. Both of the Owatonna engines have that feature.

A fire official said it is important for Owatonna to be a two-response truck department, which also comes into action during a mutual aid call.
