The Olympia Police Department is searching for information about a suspect who vandalized an Olympia fire truck on Sunday night.
Lt. Paul Lower said an Olympia Fire Department engine was parked in the Grocery Outlet parking lot, located on the 2100 block of Harrison Ave., when someone painted the letters “LONO” on the side. The vandalism is believed to have taken place between 9:30 and 10 p.m.
“The firefighters were in the area boarding up a window that had been broken, and when they came back to the truck they saw the graffiti,” Lower said. “They don’t believe it was there before they parked.”
No one witnessed the incident, and there is no security footage of a suspect, Lower said. The meaning of the message also remains a mystery.
Lower said the police department keeps a database of Olympia graffiti, and the letters “LONO” don’t match anything they’ve seen before.
