OK Fire Departments Donate Trucks to Twin Lakes Station Devastated By Fire

Donations are pouring in one month after the department's station in Crescent was decimated by a fire on February 21.

According to a report from NEWS4, donations are pouring in from generous Oklahomans and their fire departments one month after the Twin Lakes (OK) Volunteer Fire Department (TLVFD) in Crescent was decimated by a fire on February 21.

These donations includes new fire trucks on loan, while two, one each from Enid and Edmond, were donated.

It was the beginning of a total rebuild, but, fortunately, the TLVFD wouldn’t have to go it alone.

Since then, Oklahomans and their fire departments have stepped up to create fundraisers as well as loaning and donating other equipment.

The Edmond Fire Department’s original plan was to auction off the truck in November, but as fate would have it, that never happened.

TLVFD Chief Mike Gilliam says the Edmond truck carries 1,500 gallons of water, a huge benefit for the Twin Lakes community, since it does not have many hydrants.
