Ohio Township Purchases Fire Apparatus

Ohio Township has been awarded a Community Development Block Grant for the acquisition of a new water tender with fire pumping capabilities.

This endeavor was made possible through a commitment of funds from the Ohio Office of Community Development, Clermont County and Ohio Township. Grant funds are contributing $117,700 toward the project total with a local match from Ohio Township of $62,943.

Ohio Township’s portion was made possible through the sale of the 1997 Ferrara fire engine ($33,000), strategic planning, and fiscally sound decision making.

This new piece of firefighting apparatus is manufactured by E-One on an International chassis carrying 2,000 gallons of water and capable of pumping 500 gallons per minute.

This vehicle will meet the most current professional and safety standards enabling rapid response of additional water to our areas that lack fire hydrants.
