North Adams Village MI Approves Fire Apparatus Purchase

The North Adams Village (MI) board approved the purchase of a new fire truck for the village.

The new pumper truck will replace the department’s 1979 pumper truck.

Fire Chief Steve Woodruff said the new truck will also be a partial tanker with dump valves to release large amounts of water. The truck will also feature a deck gun to spray water from the deck of the truck something the department hasn’t had on any of its other trucks.

He said the new truck would meet National Fire Protection Association guidelines and some of the ISO standards.

Woodruff is currently in the process of reviewing bids for the truck. He is hoping to have the truck sometime in October.

Rick Beach, board president said the village has the funds to purchase the new truck. The village will use money from its Fire Truck Sinking Fund.
