Newburg (MO) Fire Apparatus and Equipment may be Sold

The Newburg Board of Aldermen discussed what to do with the town’s fire truck and fire equipment now that the city no longer has a fire department.

In September, the board voted to contract with nearby Doolittle Rural Fire Protection District and in doing so effectively dissolved their volunteer fire squad.

In their discussion with a representative from the Doolittle fire department, the board members agreed that the City of Doolittle should be the first one to take a look at the truck and see if it would be interested in buying it.

The board also talked about possibly putting fire protection gear and some other related items up for sale or auction. They agreed to look into researching the value of their fire department inventory before taking action.
