New York City Fire Apparatus Crash Injures Four

Four people were injured, two critically, after a fire truck slammed into an SUV in the Bronx (NY).

The fire engine was heading to a nearby fire when it slammed into a sliver Honda SUV at about 8:30 a.m., officials and witnesses said.

Four victims, none of them firefighters, were taken to Jacobi Medical Center. Two were in critical condition and two were in serious condition, but all four were expected to survive, according to FDNY officials.

“The firefighters jumped right out and helped take the people out,” Cardenas said. “They put the people in the ambulance.”
