New Jersey Fire Truck Involved in Traffic Accident

A Mount Tabor Volunteer Fire Department truck was in an accident with another vehicle while on a call.

An MTVFD truck was dispatched to investigate a report of an elevator entrapment. Police report that the vehicle’s emergency lights and siren were activated.

The truck stopped to make a left turn, with the majority of traffic yielding to the vehicle. A car reportedly drove through the intersection and was struck by the piece of fire apparatus.

The car’s driver and passenger were sent for medical evaluation.

An accident investigation revealed that the car driver’s inattention contributed to the accident.
