One of the City of Cedartown’s equipment purchases will be arriving this week after it goes through one more inspection before delivery.
Cedartown Fire Chief Sammy Stephens said the city’s new fire truck — for which the city spent $367,462 of special purpose, local option sales tax money — will be delivered this week; likely on Thursday or Friday.
Stephens said Bradenton, Florida-based Pierce Manufacturing has already driven the truck up to a final testing facility in Forsyth, where it was set to go through a last round of inspections before final delivery.
A surprise for Polk County residents will be revealed when the fire truck arrives, and Stephens said the department is planning a date to allow local residents see the city’s latest purchase.
