The Mountain Home (AR) Fire Department recently added a 2021 tanker to its fleet, reports ktlo.com, which replaces its 1985 predecessor.
The apparatus was purchased with money from the Apparatus Fund, with half of the money coming from Mountain Home and the other half coming from the Mountain Home Rural Fire Protection District.
The tanker has a Freightliner chassis and holds 2,000 gallons of water—500 gallons more than the one it’s replacing. It also has an automatic transmission, while the previous version had a standard transmission.
The tanker was purchased from Midwest Fire Apparatus in Luverne, Minn. The 1985 jaunt will be sold to the Mountain Home Street Department.
