Milton (MA) has bought a half an acre of land for $890,000 for a new fire station, according to an article published by The Patriot Ledger.

The newspaper reported the land is adjacent to St. Agatha’s rectory and is owned by the Boston archdiocese and the purchase should be completed this fall.

When complete, the new station will replace the East Milton Square station, the newspaper reported and it is part of a $32.25 million plan to expand and renovate Milton’s three fire stations.

A temporary tax increase will help fund the fire department plan, the newspaper reported.
