Federal funding will help the Middlesex Valley Volunteer Ambulance buy new heart monitors and defibrillators.
U.S. Sens. Charles Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand announced the $40,945 allocation from the Department of Homeland Security’s Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program last week.
Gillibrand called the funding a critical investment in the community.
“Updating crucial and much-needed medical equipment helps ensure the safety of countless residents in the community,” she said in a press release. “The Middlesex Valley Volunteer Ambulance will get up-to-date defibrillators to help those who have suffered a heart attack and save more lives.”
