Middleboro MA Debuts New Fire Apparatus

Middleboro (MA) has marked the first full week of work for the town’s new fire truck.

The 2013 E-One Rescue Pumper is replacing a 24-year-old Maxim pumper.

The new fire truck cost $447,000 and was part of the capital plan voted on at annual town meeting last years.

It has a new state-of-the-art engine powered by a 450 horse-power Cummins Diesel engine, carries an onboard generator and has the Jaws of Life extrication tool.

The new Engine 2 also is stocked with breathing apparatus, ground ladders, 1,000 gallons of water, 30 gallons of foam, 1,200 feet of supply hose and roughly 1,000 feet of attack hose.

The truck is equipped with a pump capable of pumping 1,500 gallons per minute.
