Features of the new tanker include dump chutes at the rear, driver side, and officer side, an upgrade from the older unit, which can only dump water from the rear of the unit. While the 40-year-old truck, a 1979 GMC Brigadier, is a pumper-tanker, the replacement unit is a water hauler without handlines for fire attack.
Other features include an International two-door MV607 4×2 chassis, a Cummins L9 350-hp engine, a Hale 500-gpm AP PTO-driven pump, and a 2,000-gallon water tank.
The rig was manufactured at E-ONE’s Hamburg, New York, facility.
