Marion Body Works Announces Expansion

PRWEB—Marion Body Works, Inc., a Marion, Wisconsin based manufacturer of specialized transportation equipment, including fire apapratus,  announced that it has added a variety of equipment to its fabrication department, significantly enhancing the company’s capabilities. Marion Body Works added nearly 20,000 square feet to its facility to house the new equipment and related resources.

Company president Curt Ignacio says the equipment enhancements will help the company continue its long history of customer-focused innovation. “We’re known as the people who can ‘do anything’ when it comes to fire and rescue apparatus, commercial van bodies, and truck cabs, and this equipment makes it even easier for us to design to exacting specifications and deliver the custom equipment customers need,” he says.

The new equipment includes two Bystronic 100-ton capacity press brakes and a Byspeed automated laser cutting machine. Software that allows for the laser, automation and press brakes to be managed simultaneously will also be added.

A second bridge mill was also added to the fabrication department to provide greater capacity and improved reliability; new software will allow Marion’s two mills to be programmed offline, increasing the run time of the machines.

“These are some of the best investments we can make as a company, because the result is an even better product, and customers who are thrilled with how well their equipment performs,” says Ignacio.
