Loris Volunteer Fire Department (SC) is getting about 23 airpacks, which will be able to deliver air to a firefighter trapped inside.
It will be a few more months until all the equipment comes in, but the department is already looking forward to taking this step towards the future. With having this grant money for the airpacks, they can use other funds to upgrade other equipment, keeping the volunteer fire department ready for when Loris residents need them.
For more than a year, a firefighter has been putting together paperwork so that the busiest volunteer firehouse in the state will be getting a federal grant.
