London (KY) Fire Department to Upgrade Fire Equipment

The London Fire Department will receive a new fire truck and updated fire equipment, reports The Sentinel Echo.

The city council approved the $129,962 purchase at a recent meeting. This truck will replace a 33-year-old truck.

The new truck will have improved safety features, such as not having an open-cab and having the ability to carry 55 gallons.

Firefighters will also receive lighter gear and new oxygen tanks, or SCBAs. The current SCBAs are 15 years old.
