Lisbon (ME) Awaits Moxie-Orange Fire Apparatus

The Lisbon (ME) Fire Department is preparing to receive a new pumper that will also sport the department’s new color scheme inspired by a beverage that is beloved in Maine.

The pumper was built by Pierce and features the “Moxie orange” color that matches the beverage’s can.

The new color scheme signals the end of a decade’s long dispute about how the trucks should be painted. About five years ago, a committee decided that any future trucks would be Moxie orange.

The new truck replaces a 1994 pumper. Half the cost of the truck will come from the fire truck reserve account and the other half from a tax increment financing reserve account.
