Lion Apparel and the Shoe Technology Company (STC) have teamed up to bring Lion Technical Footwear to the U.S. fire service.

Lion launched its new line of structural firefighting boots at this year’s Fire Department Instructors Conference (FDIC) trade show in Indianapolis.

“Lion Technical Footwear brings the most durable, safe and comfortable leather firefighting boots that are available on the market today for the U.S. fire service,” said Lion Senior Vice President Steve Allison. “Through this partnership, we can now offer a head-to-toe firefighting ensemble for our customers.”

Lion Technical Footwear is manufactured exclusively for Lion by STC, which has delivered innovative protective footwear designs and materials for more than 20 years. The two models, the pull-on Marshall and the zip-lace Commander, are both certified to the National Fire Protection Association’s 1971 Standard on Protective Ensembles for Structural Fire Fighting and Proximity Fire Fighting.

“STC structural firefighter boots were developed to offer firefighters footwear that incorporates the most advanced and innovative features for enhanced comfort, durability and protection,” said Hugh Fox, STC’s vice president of marketing.
Lion Apparel, a 112-year-old, family-owned company based in Dayton, Ohio, is a leading worldwide supplier of firefighter protective clothing. For information on its new technical footwear, go to www.lionapparel.com/boots.
