Laredo (TX) Receives New Fire Apparatus

The City of Laredo Fire Department (TX) recently received a new fire apparatus in an initiative to replace part of the fleet.

Equipped with a 100 foot extendable ladder/platform, it will be used as an aerial truck unit to reach tall structures or inaccessible scenes for fire/rescue operations.

The aerial platform, acquired at a cost of 1.2 million dollars, was purchased with proceeds derived from the sale of bonds for the purpose of funding capital expenditures.

The aerial platform will be assigned to Fire Station #7 (1120 E. Calton Rd.) and will be designated as Aerial Truck (AT) 2.

The apparatus meets/exceeds the newest National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards.

The new truck was built by Pierce Fire Apparatus in Appleton, Wisconsin with input from an assigned/select group of Laredo firefighters.

Some of the features include:

100 ft. ladder platform

300 gallon water tank capacity

2250 gallons per minute pumping capacity

10,000 watt generator

120 volt scene lighting
