Wellington (KS) Fire/EMS Auctioning Off 75-Foot Aerial Ladder Quint

Wellington Fire/EMS is auctioning off a 2000 Spartan 75-foot aerial ladder quint. This online auction is open to the public at municibid.com and ends on Wednesday, February 26, 2025. Kansas residents are able to bid in this government auction online, 24/7, on Municibid.

The current bid on the fire truck is $5,000.

The fire truck has 17,594 miles on it and features a 400-gallon water tank, 1,500 gallon-per-minute (gpm) Waterous pump, and Foam Pro system. The fire truck’s chassis has a four-seat cab arrangement with three 911 self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) seats, Firecom system, 400-mhz Kenwood radio, Code 3 siren, four rechargeable hand lanterns, and a Kussmaul auto-charger.  

The vehicle is also equipped with Insta-Chains and an 8-kW hydraulic generator. The 75-foot aerial has a Task Force Tips remote control 1,000-gpm nozzle and a 1½-inch outlet at the tip. There are three crosslays above the pump and a pre-connect in the extended front bumper. The fire truck comes with six ground ladders: a 35-foot three-section extension ladder, a 24-foot two-section extension ladder, two 16-foot roof ladders, a 10-foot roof ladder, a 14-foot combination ladder, and a 10-foot attic ladder. Five pike poles are also included: two 12-foot, two 8-foot, and a 6-foot.

All of the proceeds from this auction will go right back to the Wellington Fire/EMS. These funds can be used to buy new water hoses, another vehicle, helmets, and other essentials that the fire district needs to fight fires and save the lives of those in dire situations.
