Scott Township (PA) has loaned its only ladder truck to a hard-luck fire department in Schuylkill County.
Mahanoy City lost its truck in a fire that damaged its building in August.
Matt Pritchyk, first assistant chief of Scott Twp. Hose Company, said the 85-foot ladder truck was delivered to Mahanoy City on Saturday.
Pritchyk said that his department was moved by the outpouring of help from other firefighters when Deputy Chief Daniel “JJ” Lomax was killed by downed power lines when he stopped to help at a car crash in June.
The loan would not have been possible without support from surrounding fire companies in Jermyn, Dalton and Clifford Twp.
