A brand-new Rosenbauer King Cobra 101-foot aerial ladder truck was delivered to Fire Station No. 1 recently, the city of Royal Oak, Michigan announced on Facebook.

The new apparatus cost $1.7 million, according to a 2022 city purchase order.

The King Cobra is built with lightweight aluminum, making it easier to move and use during emergencies. The 101-foot aerial ladder can reach high places quickly, the post said.

“A special thank you to the Royal Oak City Commission for approving this valuable resource,” according to the post.

The truck replaces a 2003, 135-foot ladder truck that will be sold, according to theoaklandpress.com.
