Payette (ID) Fire Department Acquires Ladder Truck from Caldwell for $30k

The Payette Fire Department has acquired a ladder truck from the intrastate Caldwell Fire Department for $30,000, reports argusobserver.com. It’s expected to arrive by next week.

The apparatus is a 1991 E-One 75-foot ladder with 27,066 miles on it, according to the report.

There’s still a little bit of detailing work, officials say, but maintenance on the transmission and pumps is complete. They estimate that the truck should provide at least six more years of service.

City council approved the purchase at a max cost of $50,000, with all the necessary equipment. Funds will come via the department’s $160,000 in savings, which it had been accruing for the purchase of a new truck. The report notes that those savings efforts will continue.
