Charlotte (NC) FD Takes Delivery of First TDA in 30 Years

The Charlotte Fire Department placed its first tractor-drawn aerial (TDA) in service since 1992, the department said in a Facebook post Friday, Dec. 13. Temporarily housed at Firehouse 43 while Firehouse 2 undergoes renovations, Ladder 2 will serve the South End community.

TDAs bring unique benefits, including increased maneuverability for navigating tight urban streets and enhanced operational efficiency at complex incidents. This milestone marks another step forward in our commitment to protecting Charlotte, the department said in the post.
