La Crescent (MN) Repurchase Old Fire Apparatus

The La Crescent Fire Department (MN) recently bought a 1951 fire truck that was once the first truck ever purchased by the department.

The firefighters pooled their money to buy the truck from its current owner for $1,000.

“It’s going to be a parade truck and promotional stuff like that, but we’re quite proud of it, because if we let go of our history, you know, this is the only little piece we got left,” said La Crescent Fire Chief John Meyer.

There’s still a little tune up to be done on the truck, but the chief says he doesn’t expect to ever see it in service again.
