The Knoxville Fire Department has a new engine for the first time in 30 years, reports Marion County Tribune.
The new truck, purchased used from Clinton for $65,000, includes a 75-foot ladder with 1,500 gallon per minute water pressure from the tip of said ladder. It includes a water tank, generator and pump.
Firefighters have been busy training on the new truck, as well as transferring equipment to the rig from one of the older trucks. The older truck will be put into reserve, as the department intends to sell it.
