Knoxville Awards Contract to Ferrara

Knoxville, Tenn., has awarded Ferrara Fire Apparatus, Inc. a contract to build three new Igniter custom pumpers.

Knoxville has been operating Ferrara trucks since 2003, protecting approximately 100 square miles with 175,000 residents and numerous businesses, including the University of Tennessee.

Ferrara had a strong fourth quarter of 2009, receiving new apparatus orders from large metropolitan departments, including New York, Houston, Indianapolis and Columbus.

With Knoxville’s latest order, the city will have a dozen Ferrara trucks in its fleet. “One of the foundations of our company is building strong relationships with our customers, large or small,” said Chris Ferrara, the company’s president and CEO. “We build a tough, heavy duty truck and take pride in providing a level of service that matches our product.”
