Knolls Atomic Propulsion Lab in Schenectady, New York Receives All-New HME SilverFox

The Knolls Atomic Propulsion Lab in Schenectady, New York receives an all-new HME Silverfox custom pumper mounted on an exclusive 1871-SFO chassis, 96-inch 4-door cab.

The Knolls Atomic Propulsion Lab is a world-class research and development facility dedicated to support of the United States Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program. It is responsible for the research, design, construction, operation, and maintenance of the U.S. nuclear-powered warships.

The SilverFox features a tight-turning radius for extreme maneuverability and agility, along with a durable, corrosion resistant stainless steel body. The KAPL apparatus also includes roll-up doors, HME Hydra Technology with a 1,250-GPM performance and an advanced valve rod control design for precision operation. Turret guns, cross-lays, generous hosebed storage, along with a 1,000-gallon tank with through storage are featured as well.

Inside the cab there are positions for a crew of six with a 12-inch raised roof for easy access and egress. HME’s automatic fluid censoring system inside the cab adds convenience for extended engine protection and service.
