Kirkland Lake (Canada) Looking to Replace 1988 Aerial

The next step is to send out requests for proposal.

Kirkland Lake (Ontario, Canada) town council approved the fire department’s request to purchase a replacement for its 1988 Pierce aerial, reports saultstar.com.

Officials say the 33-year-old apparatus stopped working and the repairs would cost C$24,000 for parts and another C$26,000 in labor, and that’s not taking into account transportation costs.

The cost to replace the aerial would be C$1,200,000.00. To boot, renovations to the fire hall door would need to be made to accommodate the new apparatus, which would be around C$30,000, according to the report.

The next step is to send out requests for proposal.
