A completely refurbished, front line fire engine is part of a county-wide updating of equipment throughout the Kern County Fire Department.
Fire Chief Brian Marshall and District Supervisor Leticia Perez were on-hand to deliver the truck.
The refurbishing of the truck meant a substantial savings to the department and county as opposed to buying a brand new engine and equipment.
“This fire truck has been totally refurbished,” Marshall said. “It has a new body on it, a new paint job, all new striping, new fire hoses and new equipment. It’s ready to serve the city of Arvin and the surrounding communities for about the next 5 to 7 years.”
Marshall said the money brought in from an online sale will go toward buying other new firefighting equipment.
