Kennett MO Loans Fire Apparatus

The City of Kennett (MO) has loaned a fire truck to the Hornersville Fire Department due to issues with the rural community’s current truck.

During the Hornersville City Council meeting council members discussed the need for a new fire truck for the city. During recent weeks the city’s fire truck has had several problems including not being able to pump water. The city has applied for a grant to purchase one, but has not had a response yet.

State Representative Kent Hampton and Larry Kelley, local emergency management director of Dunklin County, have been contacted and they have been in touch with Mitzi Dell, the city’s grant writer, regarding the status of the grant.

After reviewing costs of possible outright purchases, the discussion was tabled until the city learns something regarding the grant application.
