Kaysville (UT) Buys New Fire Apparatus

The new fire truck purchased for the Kaysville Fire Department can pump 2,000 gallons of water a minute. It can hold 500 gallons of water. It carries 1,000 feet of hose and its ladder reaches a height of 105 feet.

The new truck cost about $860,000, and replaces a 23-year-old ladder truck which only reached 75 feet, he said. The last time the department got a new truck was in 2006.

The truck was made to specifications in Appleton (WI) and fire department employees will receive training on the new vehicle over three days next week.
