Kaufman (TX) Fire Apparatus Pumper Tour


Engine 1, with the Kaufman (TX) Fire Department, is an E-ONE eMAX Custom fire apparatus. The cab is a Typhoon X Medium model with a 12-inch raised roof and seating for six. The unit is constructed of heavy-duty extruded aluminum with full-depth compartments and ROM roll-up doors. 

The rig is powered by a Cummins ISL9 450-hp engine and an Allison EVS 3000 five-speed automatic transmission with pushbutton controls. A Harrison Model MCR 8-kW generator is installed on the starboard side in the hosebed storage pan.

The fire apparatus has an eMAX single-stage, midship pump rated at 1,500-gpm with a 750-gallon “R” UPF polypropylene tank. The foam system is a FoamPro 2001 with a 30-gallon foam cell. The front bumper contains a 1¾-inch jump line connected to a discharge centered inside the tray compartment. Two 1¾-inch speedlays are located adjacent to the pump panel and discharge/suction outlets. The deck gun mounted in the hosebed is a TFT Hurricane, with wireless remote control, mounted to a three-inch discharge. Ladders (one 24-, one 14-, and one 10-foot attic ladder) are carried in a compartment on the upper right side of the hosebed body 

Warning lights include a Whelen Freedom LED Lightbar, Whelen M6R Super LED lights, and M2R Super LED lights on the apparatus body. Audio warning devices include a Federal Q2B siren mounted on the left front bumper along with a Whelen Model 295SLSA1 electronic siren module connected to two Whelen Model SA122FMP 100-watt speakers mounted through the front bumper.
