Orting Valley Fire and Rescue and Central Pierce Fire and Rescue are thrilled to announce the arrival of their first jet-powered boats, now serving the Orting community.

The fire departments are the first in the state to acquire this model, with teams fully trained in its operation. The new boat’s advanced features allow it to travel at full speed in just three inches of water, a significant improvement over their previous boat, which required at least 12 inches.

The extensively trained water rescue team has seen a notable boost in their capabilities, as both equipment and training have greatly enhanced the department’s response model. The team reports that the new marine boats have already proven invaluable during highly technical swiftwater rescue calls.

These boats will be housed at Station 40 and Station 71. The fire departments are thankful for the ongoing support of our community, which allows us to acquire the equipment necessary to respond to any emergency.
